Member of the Red Cross since 1979 and received Gold Medal first aid certificate and qualified as an instructor. Joined the Heart Foundation and was awarded CPR Instructor Trainer certificate. Became Commissioner for the Roodepoort detachment and was later appointed District Commissioner. During the troubled times of 1991 ran the operations room and obtained her Primary Emergency Care Certificate and was a member of the disaster relief team.
In 1996 enrolled for puppy training with her German Shepherd and in 1998 with her Labrador.
Both these and a and a subsequent rescued juvenile GSD have been trained to a high level of obedience.
With her Labrador, Amber, she was a member of the WODAC Obedience to Music display.
Amber was also shown in KUSA breed confirmation shows.
Amber was awarded her KUSA CGC certificate as well as both the Silver and Gold WODAC certificates.
She was appointed a Freestyle (dancing) judge and has officiated in this capacity both in SA and the USA. During 2011 she was invited to officiate at the USA Nationals.
She has assisted with puppy training since 2000.
